I sent this video to my father. He's Cantonese so he's exactly like you described--very particular about steamed fish. So particular that my mother doesn't bother to make him the dish anymore.

Teochew people also very particular about steamed fish. Must be super fresh or else not worth eating LOL.

Haha same here. Steamed fish is just such a healthy source of protein. Just too bad preparation at home is quite troublesome and eating it outside tends to be a little too expensive.

Yah I think fish is one of those foods that's better enjoyed when eating outside...if you can find a reasonably-priced place that does it well.
