So if you have any inside information about the secondary schools in the Jurong West/Boon Lay or even larger Jurong area, please feel free to share with me and other parents on this website.

To be more precise, I wish to learn about the school's teachers, the culture, management, and how well the students generally do after graduating.

Thanks!!  Smile

Hi there!! I studied in Jurong West Secondary School and currently still studying hahaha.
The main reason why I got in that school is due to the distance.

1. Teacher wise, it would be the same for all schools, there will be good and not so good teachers. I was fortunate to have good teachers throughout my journey.
2. The culture & management has changed if I am not wrong ever since they changed the school principal. ( No comments on that).
3. How well the students generally do is also pretty subjective as there will be good and bad. In general, during my cohort, we actually did pretty well in terms of the average T-score.

After I went to Republic Polytechnic through the Polytechnic foundation program --> Currently studying in NUS Year 2.

I think the main considerations that parents should be aware of
1. Distance
2. Type of friends they will make ( This is the most important factor to me)

Any questions please ask ya. All the best for your kids.

Oh it's good to hear you had an overall good experience in JWSS.

Forgive me if this question is too blunt but I'm asking because it'll provide me with a fuller picture of JWSS: Were you from a "good" class in terms of secondary 2 streaming results?

Ahhhh nonon its good question ya,

I didnt do very well during my PSLE and I got into the Normal Academic stream. I don't know if it is a good class as we do have problems but I would consider it as the least troublesome one? I am from 3N1 I dont know if they changed it or not. There is only 3 classes. 3N1, 3N2, 3N3 if i still remember it correctly. Overall my stream was quite nice towards one another and would study well.
