I was checking out a new game called Thunder Tier One and it looks like the best gameplay video is from the same British soldier that MooMooBird posted.

Anyway this game is another super tactical and realistic game, somewhat like Zero Hour that was posted in previous replies. It's set in 90s Eastern Europe so the weapons and gadgets are not super high-tech and you'll have to rely on sound tactics and communications with your teammates (AI or player).

Take a look at the gameplay video. I think it looks damn cool even though I know I'll be terrible at it.

This game looks great. Too bad it released after I adulted. 
The top-down view reminds me of a game I played a long long long long time ago called Cannon Fodder (see screenshot below), except Thunder Tier One is much more realistic and modern-looking of course. 

Lol yes I can definitely see the resemblance to Cannon Fodder. I remember playing that game at a primary school friend's place on a Pentium-powered PC.  His computer was state-of-the-art at that time, of course.
