For some reason, I'm reminded of the old Marina South with all its steamboat restaurants. It was only $10 per person, the food quality wasn't very good, and I always ended up hot and sweaty after eating, but good memories.

Yeah the food quality really wasn't good at all, especially compared to the standard of steamboat or hot pot we get nowadays. And since most people visited those Marina South steamboat restaurants for dinner, the seafood was probably not very fresh either...

Yah I get what you mean. It was really a case of "you get what you pay for". The prawns were quite small and the fish mostly bones. I remember going with a friend who only ate the already cooked food because the steamboat food looked too unappetising for him.
