Travel and food channels on Youtube
Been wanting to share this channel for a long time but hesitated because it's mostly Chinese with no subtitles. This guy is based in Penang and introduces budget-friendly food around there and the KL area. He's probably most well known for his series where he rescues struggling food vendors or restaurants with a bunch of professional chefs and cooks. It's like Kitchen Nightmares but much friendlier LOL. I can post some of my favourite episodes from that series if anyone requests.

This video is just a regular episode (not trying to save the vendor) about a Penang cai png stall that has unusually high standards for its seafood dishes. The value is unbeatable.

looks very good. actually in penang its hard to go wrong with food, especially if the stall or restaurant looks like its been around for some time.

Just be sure to avoid the cool looking "bistro pubs" or cafes around touristy areas and hostels too. Bad personal experience lol but that's my fault for choosing such a spot for lunch.

Hahah I made the same mistake too although the cafe I chose wasn't terrible, just plain compared to the actual local Penang food I tried later during my trip.

Thanks to AroyMakMak for sharing that channel too. Lots of options to choose from the next time I travel to Penang.
