We used to be able to get a full fast food or food court meal at 5.90 in a mall just a few years ago.

That's what I thought too, $5.90 is prob on the low end if you eat at Vivo's food court.

Had a plate of stir fried petai and prawns from one of these roadside stalls in Thailand once and I've never been able to taste the same flavours again anywhere else.
