Is this a printer? No, it's an oven that costs US$1,295 for the basic set.
If you want extras like the muffin tray or egg tray, you have to pay US$200 extra.
Okay so why is it so expensive? The company claims it's because of the unique technology that allows you to cook with light. You just need to select your food type on the touchscreen and the oven's computer will automatically select the cooking duration and the types of light to turn on to make sure your food turns out perfect.
But...that also means it's difficult to cook anything that's not in the listed food type.
Oh you need to check the progress of your food cooking? Sorry, there's no glass display. You'll need to use an app on your phone to look at your food through the oven's internal camera.
So pointless.

hahah so much engineering for an oven thats not so different from normal oven. reminds me of the story of how NASA spent millions to create some futuristic pen that can write in space while the soviets just used pencils.

Lol I have a feeling we regular folks are not the target audience. The oven is probably made for people who got rich from working in tech and have too much money but don't know how to spend it. Also helps if those people don't really use their kitchen enough to know that US$1000+ is ridiculous for a limited oven.

Nice thread. My favourite ridiculous appliance will forever be the Juicero.
- The machine was about US$400, which isn't too bad for this kind of high-tech appliance
- BUT each packet of juice is about US$7 and that's how the company planned to make money
- Packets were designed to only work with the Juicero machine
- BUT people found out later they can actually squeeze the juice out manually
- Company received a lot of bad press and eventually shut down
- Founder moved on to selling "raw water" for US$40 per jug
Of course, I appreciate entrepreneurship but Juicero was just dishonest entrepreneurship that didn't really provide value for anyone other than themselves. Quite similar to the brava oven in that regard.

Lol I was curious abt his "raw water" and I found this article..https://www.grubstreet.com/2018/01/juicero-founder-doug-evans-now-promotes-unfiltered-raw-water.html
So he went around bottling natural spring water and sold them for S$40 per jug. Pro scammer indeed.

Even though he didn't make a huge profit from selling the machine, I think he collected quite a chunk of investment money. Definitely a pro scammer and unfortunately not the only one in the startup world.

That's what these machines remind me of. These companies are selling futuristic pens for futuristic prices when you can just use a pencil.

Maybe I should try and bottle the spring water from Bukit Gombak and sell it for $40 per jug too.
