This type of yu sheng (raw fish) used to be quite common in local coffee shops and hawker centres but it got banned in 2015. Regardless it's interesting to see how the same dish is served in Southern China.

Hmm I remember enjoying raw fish served with porridge at hawker centres but I think it was banned for a good reason because the risk of infection was too severe. Still cool to see a version (the original version?) of the dish in China though.

Yeah freshwater fish is too dangerous to be eaten raw. Honestly I wouldn't risk it in China...

Oh it got banned... No wonder I couldn't find this dish locally anymore.

I remember reading about some diner dying after eating it so it was probably banned for a good reason.
